I'm seriously looking back on approximately 23 years of legal adulthood. How many years of that I can legitimately claim as responsible adulthood is probably closer to half, or less. I was a manchild. I'm still a manchild only slightly wiser and sober.

But over the last few days i've had a recurring discussion with several men. The topic being that every time something comes off the to do list, another thing just fills that space.

A lot of the shit doesn't actually need to get done. I'm really into filling a whole bunch of that space with things that bring me joy, and also contemplating the effectiveness of allocating more space for doing nothing, aka sitting on my deck and looking at trees and birds.

You know what one of my favorite accomplishments is? Bleeding because I crashed while doing something fun. That is never time wasted...

p.s. In the photo at the beginning of your article you have poop all over your face or something. It doesn't look good, not sure if you noticed...

Thank you for this Ben.

We can be really hard on ourselves. i was beating my self up this morning for not getting up sooner and accomplishing more but I did a lot today to feel good about so thank you for this reminder! I agree your client was doing so well considering she is in the middle of a move!!
